  San Jose Island is part of Las Perlas archipelago in the Pacific Ocean  
  San Jose Island is part of Las Perlas archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. It is the second largest of the archipelago, with 44 square kilometers and its located in the middle of the Gulf of Panama only 90 kilometers from the capital city. You can reach this island on board a vessel in approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes by air.
It has 3 kilometers of beautiful and spectacular beaches and is characterized by its spendid coral reefs, nice temperatures and for its green vegetation that covers the whole island from the coast to its hills.
This island is blessed by its many rivers and waters. Many of its waterfalls measures some 60 feet high and natural caves gives the island a special beauty. The fauna is abundant due to its rich vegetation and available water with a population of over 3000 pigs, and a large amount of deer and birds.
The waters of San Jose island benefit fishing and is considered one of the best places for fishing in the world. These waters have seen the record 16 black marlin fish. Other fish like Wahoo, dolphins, whales, tuna, Macarel, tortoises, shrimp, large oysters among others turn this place into a paradise for marina fauna lovers. From San Jose you can travel to other islands.
